While homelessness can often be an uncomfortable topic to discuss, it is important to approach it with kindness and compassion in order to better understand the struggles faced by those experiencing homelessness and to work towards finding solutions.
It is important to recognize that living in a shelter as a child is a unique experience that is often subject to stereotypes and misconceptions. Rather than perpetuating these stereotypes, we should seek to understand the complex and varied reasons why families may find themselves in need of shelter.
